Say Goodbye To Thameslink Moorgate
Thameslink passenger Services to and from Moorgate end forever this friday. Although the tracks will remain in place for a while yet, the change is necessary as Key Output 0 of the Thameslink Project swings into full force and the rebuilding of Blackfriars begins.
As the countdown clock at platform level solemnly reminds us, the last scheduled passenger service to leave the station will be the 19:06 this Friday. Technically, however, this will not be the last Thameslink train to use the station - that honour is reserved for the 8-car unit that runs into Moorgate at 19:41.
The original plan was for this unit to run empty to Kentish town at approximately five-to-eight, but First Capital Connect have confirmed that this will now take passengers and run as a final send-off service - celebrating (or commiserating) the end of a Thameslink Era.
The service will depart Moorgate at 19:54 and call at Farringdon, St Pancras and finally Kentish Town.
First Capital Connect is extending an invitation to all - whether rail enthusiast or reminicing commuter - to join the service on its final journey, and will be issuing free commemorative tickets at the head of platforms 5 & 6 on a first-come, first-served basis, with those taking up the offer invited to make a donation to the Railway Children in exchange.
also wer vor ort ist sollte das nicht verpassen ...
Gruß
