Hallo,
so wie es aussieht geht es bald los mit der "neuen" (was ja garnicht wirklich neu ist!) Linie, aber warum das ganze "Probieren" ...
aus Londonreconnections:
Slightly buried in TfL's travel information for this coming weekend is the following statement:
Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 June, there is no through Circle line service. Passengers travelling between Bayswater and Baker Street in either direction will need to change trains at Edgware Road
An apparently innocuous statement, but one that is actually more important than it sounds - for it heralds the beginning of trials for the teacupping of the Circle Line that is due to be part of the permanent timetable from December onwards.
For those unfamiliar with the plan, the idea is that the Circle will be "broken" from the end of the year, with Circle Line trains running from Hammersmith round to Edgware Road (via Liverpool Street) and then back again.
This, the theory goes, will provide much needed capacity between Hammersmith and Edgware Roadd (it effectively doubles the number of trains per hour) as well as allow for easier regulation and recovery of the Circle Line when timetable disruption occurs. It will, however, potentially place a great deal of stress on signals and changes at Edgware Road, and whether difficulties here will ultimately render the plan impossible to implement for the long-term remains to be seen.
During the trails this weekend, the service pattern on the Sub-surface lines will be as follows:
Hammersmith & City
Hammersmith - Whitechapel : Every 10 minutes
Between 14:45 and 18:45 on Saturday, trains will be extended alternately
to/from Barking and Plaistown
Circle
Hammersmith - Edgware Road - Circle Outer Rail - Edgware Road : Every 10 minutes
Edgware Road - Circle Inner Rail - Edgware Road - Hammersmith : Every 10 minutes
Metropolitan
Aldgate - Uxbridge : Every 10 minutes
Baker Street - Northwood : Every 10 minutes
Services retimed between Aldgate and Baker Street
District
Upminster - Wimbledon : Every 10 minutes
Barking - West Kensington : Every 20 minutes
Tower Hill - West Kensington : Every 20 minutes
Wimbledon - Edgware Road : Every 10 minutes
High Street Kensington - Kensington (Olympia) : Every 15 minutes
